New Peter Cohen exhibition at David Krut
The new solo project by Peter Cohen features paintings on paper from his studio plus new unique works on paper made at the David Krut Workshop with collaborator Sbongiseni Khulu, which combine the cyanotype process, lithography and drawing.
In Dissolving Realities, Peter Cohen manipulates visual elements to prompt viewers to investigate the reliability of memory and its role in shaping individual and collective experiences. He achieves this through the act of dissolution – creating layered daydreams out of commonplace scenery where reality loses its definition, inside and outside become interchangeable, and memory and truth are mirrored distortions.
Peter Cohen collaborated with Sbongiseni Khulu at the David Krut Workshop on a series of five cyanotype-based artworks on paper titled Blueprints which are also included in this exhibition.
The exhibition opens on 18 April at 5.30pm at The Blue House, 151 Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood. It runs until 18 May.
